What happens during a Dysport appointment?

Your appointment begins with a consultation and facial assessment.

Your provider will ask about your concerns, medical history, previous injectable treatments, and desired result. They will also evaluate your facial movement to determine where treatment may be appropriate.

Dysport is then injected into carefully selected muscles using a very fine needle. The injections themselves usually take only a few minutes.

How much downtime is typical after Dysport?

Dysport contains abobotulinumtoxinA, while Botox contains onabotulinumtoxinA. Their units are not interchangeable, so a certain number of Dysport units does not equal the same number of Botox units.

How many units of Dysport will I need?

There is no universal number of Dysport units that every patient needs.

Dysport uses its own dosing system, and its units cannot be directly compared with Botox units. Your treatment amount will depend on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, treatment areas, previous treatments, and desired result.

Will Dysport make me look frozen?

The goal is not to eliminate all facial movement.

-Excessive heat, including saunas, hot tubs, or very hot showers, immediately after treatment
-Anything else your provider specifically advises you to avoid based on your treatment

Small bumps, redness, or tenderness at the injection sites can be normal shortly after your appointment and typically settle quickly.

How often should I get Dysport?

What happens if I stop getting Dysport?

Stopping Dysport does not make your face age more quickly.

Can Dysport fix deep wrinkles?

It depends on what is causing the wrinkle.
